Born in 1991, a mildly introverted Louis Pagán was brought up in quite a musical family, honing a propensity for music well before his first piano lessons at age six. As he grew into a young teen his focus shifted from classical studies to electric guitar. In the following formative years, Louie began playing drumset and electric bass; composing, and performing with other musicians. He was also keen to identify as a musician in school, taking lessons on the double bass and performing in the Lees Summit West High School Symphony Orchestra. He also played in the Kansas City Youth Symphony and was a member of the Missouri All-State Orchestra for four consecutive years.

Mid-way through his high school years, Louie began recording himself playing his original material. Without the aid of a computer, sequencer, or any kind of software, he captured multiple guitar and bass tracks, then added live drums to create his first self-produced musical compositions. From the modest beginnings of these basement recordings came an engineering philosophy rooted in the idea that one should be able to actually play what is heard on the final product.

Several years and self-produced recordings later, Pagán has earned his B.S. in Music Production from the McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, MN. His most recent album “Positives” is his most natural and organic sounding material to date, staying true to the engineering ideals described above.
